Attaining Good Success (Part 1) – Open Heavens Devotional March 10, 2026 by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

The Open Heavens Devotional for Tuesday, March 10, 2026 titled “Attaining Good Success (Part 1)” teaches that there is a higher dimension of victory available to God’s children: success without struggle because God fights on their behalf. Using Romans 8:31–39 and John 14:23, this message explains that believers can become more than conquerors through God’s love, favor, and presence.

The devotional builds on recent teachings about the battles of life. First, it showed that when God fights against a person, failure is inevitable. Then it explained that even when God is with a person, there can still be victory with struggle. But today’s lesson reveals something deeper: God can give His children victories without a fight.

Pastor Adeboye uses the picture of a boxer winning a championship and handing both the belt and prize money to his wife. In that case, the wife enjoys the victory without entering the ring. In the same way, when God specially favors a believer, He can hand over victory, promotion, and testimonies without that person needing to struggle for them.

A major emphasis from the transcript is that special closeness to God brings special privileges. Jesus had many followers, twelve disciples, then an even closer circle of Peter, James, and John. Yet John enjoyed a deeper level of closeness. This teaches that intimacy with God matters. Those who dwell in His presence and obey Him experience a special kind of love and divine intervention.

The devotional also explains that obedience attracts God’s special love. Jesus said in John 14:23 that anyone who loves Him will keep His word, and the Father will love that person and make His abode with them. This means genuine love for God is proven through obedience, not mere words or outward appearance.

Examples from Scripture strengthen this truth:

  • Jehoshaphat saw God win a battle before it even began, as the enemies destroyed themselves while Judah praised.

  • The Israelites at the Red Sea were told, “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

  • Joseph refused secret sin and later enjoyed divine elevation.

  • Daniel remained faithful and God shut the mouths of lions.

  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow, and God delivered and promoted them.

The central lesson is clear: the safest and most powerful way to attain good success is not through shortcuts, manipulation, or human schemes, but through loving God and obeying His instructions fully. When God fights for you, promotion follows, testimonies become visible, and victory comes with ease.
