Jade Dynasty-2019

Set in ancient China amid immortal sects and demonic cults, “Jade Dynasty” follows Zhang Xiaofan (Xiao Zhan), a kind-hearted village boy whose peaceful life shatters when his entire village, including his parents, is massacred by mysterious attackers using a powerful Thunder Driven Spell. Left as an orphan (depicted in ragged, beggar-like state), Xiaofan and his childhood friend Lin Jingyu are rescued by Tian Buyi, master of the Qingyun Sect’s Dazhu Peak. While Jingyu is taken by the elite Taoist Cangsong, Xiaofan—seen as having poor cultivation potential—reluctantly joins Dazhu Peak.
